Seals have functioned as symbols of authority from the earliest days of medieval epoch.

Historical documents

Historical documents written on parchment or paper, with black, red or green ink, adorned with frontispieces and gilded polychrome subspicii, represent the emblems of the countries and the Romanian medieval rulers.
