Snagov Monastery is an important historical monument of the Romanian feudal art. It is located on an island of the Snagov Lake, near the village of Snagov. The monastery is one of the foundations of Mircea cel Bătrân (Mircea the Elder), attested in documents of 1408. It has been rebuilt several times by other rulers, among them should be mentioned Vlad Tepes and Mircea Ciobanu.
